A Crispy Air-Fried Chickpea Recipe

  1. Add 1 can (15 oz) drained chickpeas (no need to rinse) to the mixture.
  2. Olive oil (or other cooking oil) spray
  3. Choose your seasoning:
  4. One tablespoon ranch seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

Preparation:

  • Drain the chickpeas and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. No need to rinse—the tiny dampness aids cooking.
  • Dry chickpeas by air-frying at 390°F (200°C) for 2 minutes without salt or oil. This stage dries them.
    In the first cooking round, only lightly spray the chickpeas with olive oil.
  • Put them back in the air fryer for 5 minutes. Shake the basket for even frying.
  • In the second cooking round, cook for 5 minutes and shake the basket again for even browning.
  • Season with your preferred seasoning in the last 2 minutes of cooking. As an example:
  • 1 tbsp ranch
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Finish cooking in the air fryer for 2 minutes.
  • To cool, remove the chickpeas and distribute them on a platter. They crunch better when cooled.
    Additional seasoning may be added after cooling.
