Air fryer bacon wrapped corn on the cob

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Knife
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Paper towel

Ingredients

  • 4 Fresh corn on the cob
  • ½ lb Bacon (about 8 strips)
  • ¼ cup barbecue sauce (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the corn

  • Remove husks if needed. Part corn dry if wet from rinsing or condensation.

Method 1

  • Wrap whole corn with 1 or 2 bacon rashers. 2 would be ideal if you like bacon in every bite.

Method 2

  • Cut corn on the cob into half. Then wrap each strip of bacon around it, securing with a cocktail stick or just placing seam side down in the air fryer basket.

Air fry

  • Place bacon wrapped corn on the cob in the air fryer basket seam side down if not using cocktail sticks.
  • Set temperature to 400°F / 200°C and cook for 16 mins flipping half way through. By this time the corn is ready if and that bacon is crispy if you you want the bacon more crispy cook for another 2 to 3 mins.
  • You can brush with some bbq sauce in the last 2 mins of cooking if you like.

For frozen corn on the cob

  • Let the frozen corn thaw completely then pat dry before wrapping with bacon then cook in the air fryer for up to 18 mins flipping half way through. Add more time as needed.

Notes

  1. I don’t recommend using thick cut bacon for bacon wrapped corn on the cob but if you do, you’ll need to cook for longer.
  2. Fresh corn is recommended for this recipe to get the joy of biting into juicy sweet corn.
  3. You can wrap the bacon on a full ear of corn. However cutting each ear of corn makes it easier for me to manage.
  4. The corn should be fully cooked at about 15 mins. If the bacon hasn’t crisped up to your liking cook for another 2- 3 minutes.
  5. You can use toothpicks to secure the bacon or place seam side down when cooking. If you do use toothpicks, remember to take them out before serving.
