AIR FRYER CABBAGE FRITTERS

AIR FRYER CABBAGE FRITTERS

Easy to prepare and delicious whether paired with sour cream or a homemade chipotle dipping sauce, air-fried cabbage fritters are a hit. Simple to bind and cook without creating a mess on parchment paper, I adore the way the crunchy cabbage gives them a caramelized, crispy exterior and a soft, crunchy interior.

PREP TIME: minutes
COOK TIME: minutes
TOTAL TIME: 12 minutes

Ingredients:

Two cups of finely shredded cabbage

one medium carrot, cut finely

one large egg

Add more sour cream to the serving (one tablespoon)

Three tablespoons of all-purpose flour

Spoonful of Baking Soda It acts as an elevating agent. A tiny sprinkle of baking soda added to your batter will give the fritters an incredibly light and fluffy texture that will leave them tempting.

One teaspoon of salt

one-third of a teaspoon of pepper, or one teaspoon of your preferred seasoning.

To brush the fritters, use one tablespoon of olive oil or your favourite vegetable oil. Or use a spray oil instead.

Directions:

Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Take off the cabbage’s upper leaves.

Shred the cabbage finely. I shred and chop carrots and cabbage easily in my food processor.

Combine the shredded carrot and cabbage in a big basin together with the seasonings, salt, and pepper, flour, egg, baking soda, sour cream, and spices. Stir well.

Add the herbs, garlic, and green onions, if preferred.
Pick up the small amount of ingredients (about two teaspoons) and form it into a ball with your palms.

Keep in mind to slightly moisten your hands if the mixture begins to become sticky.

Place the balls in the air fryer basket or tray in a single layer.

Press the balls with a spoon to form a pancake shape that is about ½ inch thick.

Mist each fritter with a small amount of oil spray. An alternative is to use oil for brushing. Air fried till golden brown with caramelized edges, 3–4 minutes per side.

NOTES

You can use parchment paper to lay the cabbage fritters on. They will be easy to flip and will not stick. Still use oil though to brush on the fritter.

You can substitute for gluten-free flour or almond flour.

dd a few fresh herbs, if desired. I love to use finely chopped fresh dill and finely chopped green onion.

Add cooked bacon pieces or bacon crumbles, a dollop of sour cream on, top with green onions or chives and you have a complete loaded cabbage fritter experience.
