Air Fryer Chicken Chow Mein Recipe

A delicious all in one air fryer recipe for Chinese chicken chow mein recipe made in the air fryer.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, finely diced
  • 300g Fresh egg noodles
  • 1 bag mixed stir fry veg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon corn flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  2. Preheat the air fryer 190°C for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the diced chicken with 2 teaspoons of Chinese 5 spice. Place the chicken in the preheated air fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the chicken is cooked through and nicely browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Place the vegetable mixture into the air fryer basket and cook for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally, or until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the air fryer basket and add the minced garlic to the other side. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
  6. Add the cooked chicken and noodles to the air fryer basket. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and gently toss everything together to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through and allow the flavours to meld.
  7. Once cooked, remove the air fryer basket from the machine. Serve the Air Fryer Chicken Chow Mein in bowls.
