Air Fryer Chopped Roasted Cabbage Recipe: Try this Air Fryer Chopped Cabbage recipe for a simple and quick side dish! It pairs well with practically any main meal and is flavorful and delicate.
One of my favourite quick side dishes is cooked cabbage. Consider having it prepared directly in the air fryer instead of spending time baking or sautéing it. It’s a delightful, easy-to-make vegetable side dish that pairs well with practically any main dish recipe.
Although a lot of people enjoy preparing cabbage steaks in the air fryer, this dish is quicker and easier to create with chopped cabbage. In addition, you won’t have to stress about undercooking the wedges of cabbage.
Ingredients:
- half a head of cabbage, green
- Two tablespoons of melted butter or ghee (use vegan butter if you’re on a dairy-free or vegan diet).
- half a teaspoon of sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
- Cut your cabbage roughly into broad slices or pieces; you don’t want to shred or cut it too small so that it falls through the air fryer basket’s openings.
- Put the cabbage into a medium-sized mixing basin. Add the salt, pepper, and butter or ghee. To mix, toss.
- Place the cabbage in the basket of your air fryer. Set the timer for six minutes at 350°F.
- Once the six minutes have elapsed, open the basket and gently toss the cabbage.
- For 4-6 more minutes, or until the cabbage is wilted and faintly browned, set the timer. Take care to prevent it from burning.
- Warm up and serve.
Notes:
- Certain models of air fryers require preheating. To find out if you need to preheat your specific model before using it, please consult the owner’s manual.
- You can melt your butter or ghee in a small saucepan on the stovetop, or in a small bowl in the microwave.
- This recipe can easily be doubled depending on the size of your air fryer.
- The cabbage pieces can overlap in the air fryer basket. Just be sure to shake or stir them halfway through the cooking process so they cook evenly.
