Air Fryer Christmas Sausage Rolls with Cranberry and Brie
These festive sausage rolls are perfect for the holiday season, combining savory sausage meat with sweet cranberry sauce and gooey Brie. Here’s how to make them in your air fryer:
Ingredients:
- 400g sausage meat
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- Mixed herbs
- Salt and pepper, to season
- Ready-to-roll puff pastry (or make your own)
- Cranberry sauce
- Brie cheese, sliced
- 1 beaten egg
Instructions:
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
Prepare the Sausage Meat:
- Squeeze the sausage meat into a large bowl.
- Add the finely chopped garlic, orange zest, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
Prepare the Pastry:
- Lightly flour a clean surface and unroll your puff pastry.
- Cut the pastry in half lengthways.
- Spread cranberry sauce down the middle of each half, leaving room on either side.
Assemble the Sausage Rolls:
- Divide the sausage meat mixture into two portions and spread each portion along the length of the pastry on top of the cranberry sauce.
- Lay slices of Brie on top of the sausage meat.
- Brush one edge of the pastry with beaten egg, then fold the other side over to encase the sausage meat tightly.
- Use a fork to press down the pastry edges and cut away any excess pastry.
Cut and Prepare for Cooking:
- Cut each roll into 4 pieces.
- Poke two slits in the top of each roll to release steam while cooking.
- Brush each roll with beaten egg.
Cook in the Air Fryer:
- Place the sausage rolls in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
- Air fry at 200°C (400°F) for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
