Air Fryer Filet Mignon Steak Recipe

Air fryer Filet Mignon is the best way to cook this finest cut of steak. I love how it turns juicy and tender from the inside and beautifully seared on the outside. The air fryer can cook mouth-watering filet mignon in no time. It is quick, easy, and the best part? It tastes delicious and melts in your mouth!

INGREDIENTS

Table of Contents

                                                                               2.   filet mignon steaks 1 inch thick or more
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive oil or avocado oil

Optional

  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Optional Garlic Butter Topping

  • 4 oz butter
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • Mix all the ingredients with the butter and set aside.

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not skip this step. Please make sure your air fryer is hot. Preheat for at least 5 minutes. If you do not have a preheat function, simply run your air fryer empty for 5 minutes.

While your air fryer is preheating, pat your filet mignon with a paper towel to remove any excess liquid.  2. Season the meat with oil on both sides, add some salt and pepper, to taste, and garlic powder. Sometimes I press finely minced fresh garlic into the meat. If using a marinade, let the steak marinate for 15 to 30 minutes.                        3. Place the steak in the air fryer basket and let it cook for about six to eight minutes, depending on the thickness of the meat.

Turn the steak over and cook it for another six to eight minutes or until an internal temperature of 130°F is reached for medium-rare doneness.

For reference: The thickness of my filet mignon is usually about 1 and ½ inches and I cook it 6 minutes per side for a medium-rare doneness.

    4.   After reaching the desired doneness cover the steak with aluminum foil for 3-5 minutes. So that all the flavor can easily absorb into the steak.

    • 5. Top it with the optional garlic-parsley butter and Enjoy!!

Recipe: Soften 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter and mix in two finely minced garlic cloves. Add a touch of salt and pepper, to taste. I also love to add some herbs like finely chopped parsley or thyme. Spread this delicious butter over your cooked filet mignon, and watch as it melts into the steak, adding a creamy and garlicky twist to every bite.

    NOTES

For those who like their steaks rare, an internal temperature of 125 degrees F should be what you’re aiming for. If you’re more of a medium-rare person, aim for an internal temperature of 135 degrees F. Medium steaks should have an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, while those who love their steaks well-done should look out for an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

To ensure your steak is cooked to your liking, use a meat thermometer. Remember, cooking times can vary depending on the thickness of your steak, so play around with the cooking time to achieve the perfect level of doneness. Once done, serve your steak with a side of vegetables, mashed potatoes, or your preferred steak sauce.

You can check the internal temperature with the help of a meat thermometer. FDA recommends the following temperatures:

    Rare: 125°F

    Medium-Rare: 135°F

    Medium: 145°F

    Medium-Well: 155°F

    Well-done: 160°F
