Air Fryer French Breakfast Puffs
Introduction
French Breakfast Puffs are light, fluffy, and buttery muffins coated in cinnamon sugar—a perfect treat with coffee! Traditionally baked, but we’re making them quick & easy in the air fryer for a golden-brown, melt-in-your-mouth result.

Ingredients
For the Puffs:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ tsp ground nutmeg
⅓ cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
½ cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
4 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
Prepare the Batter
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg, vanilla, and buttermilk. Mix well.
Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until combined. Do not overmix.
Air Fry the Puffs
Preheat air fryer to 330°F (165°C).
Grease silicone muffin cups or use parchment liners.
Fill each muffin cup ¾ full with batter.
Air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
Brush each warm puff with melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips & Tricks
No buttermilk? Use regular milk + 1 tsp vinegar.
Make them extra fluffy by not overmixing the batter.
Want a filled version? Add a small spoonful of jam in the center before baking!
