  • Ingredients

    • 2 cups of milk
    • 1 egg
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
    • Cooking spray or a light brush of vegetable oil
    • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
    • Whipped cream or fruit (optional, for serving)
    • Instructions

      • Prepare the Batter (Time: 5 minutes):
        • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until well combined.
        • Add in the salt, baking soda, and sugar, and mix well.
        • Gradually fold in the flour until the batter becomes smooth and well mixed.
      • Preheat the Air Fryer (Time: 3 minutes): Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
      • Prepare the Batter for Air Frying (Time: 2 minutes):
        • Pour the batter mixture into a gallon-size Ziplock bag and seal it.
        • Cut a small hole in one of the bottom corners of the bag to create a makeshift piping bag.
      • Cook the Funnel Cake Bites (Time: 10 minutes):
        • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush it lightly with vegetable oil.
        • Pipe small circles or bite-sized shapes of batter into the air fryer basket, leaving a bit of space between each one.
        • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 5-6 minutes, or until the bottom side is golden brown.
        • Flip the bites over and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the other side is golden brown and the bites are cooked through.
      • Serve:
        • Remove the funnel cake bites from the air fryer and place them on paper towels to soak up any excess oil.
        • Dust generously with powdered sugar.
        • Serve warm with whipped cream or fruit, if desired.
