Air Fryer Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls
Introduction
Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls combine the savory goodness of thinly sliced beef, melty cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers inside a crispy egg roll wrapper. Unlike deep-fried versions, these are cooked in the air fryer, making them lighter but still deliciously crunchy. They are quick, easy, and perfect for game day, parties, or a fun dinner!
Ingredients (Makes about 8 egg rolls)
For the Filling:
½ lb (225g) ribeye steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
½ cup onion, finely chopped
½ cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
½ cup mushrooms (optional), finely chopped
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce (adds a deep umami flavor!)
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese (or 4 slices cut into strips)
For the Egg Rolls:
8 egg roll wrappers
1 egg, beaten (for sealing the wrappers)
Cooking spray or a light brush of oil
For Dipping (Optional):
Cheese sauce, ranch dressing, or spicy mayo
Instructions
Prepare the Filling
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.
Add the thinly sliced steak, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted. Let cool slightly before assembling the egg rolls.
Assemble the Egg Rolls
Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing toward you (diamond shape).
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the lower third of the wrapper.
Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides.
Roll tightly, brushing the top corner with beaten egg to seal.
Repeat for all 8 egg rolls.
Air Fry the Egg Rolls
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2 minutes.
Lightly spray or brush the egg rolls with oil to help them crisp up.
Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket (do not overcrowd).
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve & Enjoy!
Let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, like cheese sauce or ranch!
