Description
Super easy, tasty, and healthy air fryer roasted beets, aka beetroot, is the ultimate vegetable side dish you didn’t know you needed! Air-frying beets is straightforward; air frying may be the best way to cook beets! You end up with colorful pretty-looking beets that complement any main dish. This easy air fryer beets recipe ensures you get tender and sweet beets right from your air fryer. Also, this beets recipe is vegan and gluten-free!
Ingredients
- 6 medium Raw Beets
- 2 tablespoons Avocado oil or Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Onions powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Dry thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Prep the Beets. Your first step is to wash, peel, and cut the beetroot. Keep your chunks of beets around the same size for even cooking.
- Season the cut Beets. Add your cut beets to a bowl and then combine them with the other ingredients. Feel free to give them a taste and make any adjustments on the seasonings.
- Air fry the Beets. Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper, then add in the seasoned beets, spreading them around in an even layer. Turn the air fryer to the “bake” setting and set the temperature to 300F. Cook for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
- Serve and Enjoy! Your beets are ready when they’re fork tender and nicely crisp outside. You can eat them as-is which I highly recommend, or use them in a variety of ways which I’ll detail further below.
Notes
The cooking time may differ if you cut beets in bigger chunks.
Try not to slice them too thin either. They shrink a bit while baking in the air fryer and may dry up.
Don’t forget to turn them after they’ve been cooking for 15 minutes.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket with beets. If you plan on roasting a lot of them, you’ll have to do it in batches.
