Air Fryer Sausage and Potatoes

Smoked Sausage and Potatoes in an Air Fryer
- This recipe for air fryer sausage, potatoes, and onions is sure to please anyone who enjoys simple air fryer supper recipes. Make it spicy by adding cayenne, or choose for a milder version. Our handmade Cajun seasoning enhances the flavor of this one-pot meal, is gently spicy, and keeps well in storage.
- Any smoked sausage, such as Kielbasa, Creole, or Cajun, can be chosen. Additionally, choose Yukon gold potatoes or baby gold potatoes for your air fryer potatoes and sausage.
How to keep things in storage
- Refrigerator: You can keep this air fryer recipe for sausage and potatoes in the refrigerator for up to five days. Store it in airtight containers.
- Freezer: Air fryer sausage and potatoes can be stored in freezer-safe bags or containers in individual portion sizes for up to three months. Before reheating, let them thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
- Smoked Sausage (14 ounce) **I used Andouille sausage that was cut into slices that were ½ inch thick. See the NOTES section below.)
- One pound of potatoes (** Yukon gold potatoes that have been peeled and chopped into 1-inch cubes that are about ½ inch thick). See the NOTES section below.)
- One medium onion (**yellow onion chopped into large chunks of ½ inch)
- To taste, add 2 tsp Cajun Seasoning Salt (**adjust to your own personal flavor desire).
- Two tablespoons of olive oil (**use light or extra light olive oil.)
- Coat the air fryer basket with cooking oil spray (**).
Directions
- Prepare the onion, potatoes, and sausage.
- Cut the Yukon gold potatoes into 1-inch cubes that are ½ inch thick after they have been peeled. To remove the starch, rinse them under running water and use a sieve or colander to thoroughly drain them. Spoon them into a big basin. Cut the smoked sausage into slices that are ½ inch thick and place them aside. Separate the onion’s petals and chop it into large pieces, about ½ inch. Put them away.
- Add oily oil to the potatoes, salt to your own taste, and homemade salt-free Cajun seasoning. Using a spatula, toss to thoroughly coat them. Stir everything thoroughly after adding the chopped onion.
Air fry
- Set the air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Apply cooking oil spray to the air fryer basket that has been preheated. Put the onion and seasoned potatoes in the basket of the air fryer. Using your spatula, spread them into a single layer. A few pieces piling on top of one another is OK. Now, air fry at 390 degrees for 15 minutes, shaking the basket every five minutes.
- once the cooking cycle of 15 minutes is over. Place the sausage slices in the basket of the air fryer. Using a spatula, place them on top of the potatoes in a single layer. At 390 F, air fried for 5 minutes. Serve the potatoes and sausage from the air fryer right away with your preferred dipping sauce. Have fun!
Remarks
- Even Cooking: To guarantee even cooking, don’t forget to shake the air fryer basket a few times. This is significant.
- The best sausage is smoked sausage that has been fully cooked. Any smoked sausage will work, depending on your preferences. We adore Cajun spicy smoked sausages, andouille, Kielbasa, and Creole. Italian sausage and other uncooked, unsmoked sausages will not work in this recipe.
- Top Potatoes: Yukon gold potatoes that have been peeled and chopped into 1-inch cubes that are ½ inch thick. If you’d like, you can peel them. Red potatoes of the same size or baby red or gold potatoes cut in half can alternatively be used in place of the gold potatoes.
