Air fryer sausage kabobs

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • 8 inch wooden skewers
  • Ingredients

    • 1 Ib Smoked sausage (I used Kielbasa)
    • Medium Red bell pepper
    • Medium Green bell pepper
    • Medium Yellow bell pepper
    • medium red onion (you could also use yellow or white)
    • 1 Tablespoon oil
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ Teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
    • Instructions

      1. Cut sausage into 1 ½ inch slices. Set aside
      2. Transfer the chopped vegetables (bell peppers and onions) into a bowl add oil, the season with salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and black pepper. Toss to combine.
      3. Thread the sausage slices and veggies on the wooden skewers alternating between the sausages and a combination of peppers and onions.
      4. When all the wooden skewers have been filled with sausage and peppers, place sausage skewers in the air fryer basket and air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10 to 12 mins. Flipping halfway through.
      5. Feel free to add more time as needed especially if you want the sausage exterior really crispy.
      6. Notes

        1. No preheat needed.
        2. When threading the sausage and peppers be careful and do so gently to prevent getting splinters in your hands because some of the wooden skewers are rough to touch.
        3. Since the sausage is the star of the dish it’s best you choose one with a flavor you really like. Whether you prefer spicy or mild, smoked or fresh, choose a sausage that you enjoy eating.
        4. Cut the sausage and vegetables into bite-sized pieces that are roughly the same size. This will help them cook evenly and make it easier to eat.
