Apple Cinnamon Cake
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- A pinch of salt
- 135 g sugar (2/3 cup)
- 1/3 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 135 g milk (1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons)
- 70 ml oil (1/3 cup)
- 15 g baking powder (1 tablespoon)
- 300 g flour (2 1/2 cups)
- 2–3 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- Cinnamon powder, to taste
- Additional sugar, for sprinkling (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease a cake mold with butter or oil.
- Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt using a mixer until frothy. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract, milk, and oil to the egg mixture. Mix well.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine baking powder with flour. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Assemble the Cake: Pour a layer of the batter into the greased cake mold. Add a layer of chopped apples on top of the batter. Sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon powder over the apples. Pour another layer of batter over the apples. Add another layer of chopped apples on top.
- Bake the Cake: Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the mold for a few minutes. Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Optional: Sprinkle the top of the cake with additional sugar for added sweetness and crunch.
