Baked Chicken and Broccoli
A straightforward, nutritious, and tasty dish that requires little work to prepare is baked chicken and broccoli. This recipe will help you make a tasty baked dish:
Components:
Four skinless, boneless chicken breasts (or, if you’d rather, thighs)
Two cups of frozen or fresh broccoli florets
Two tablespoons of olive oil
One teaspoon of garlic powder
One teaspoon of onion powder
One teaspoon of Italian seasoning or dried thyme
To taste, add salt and pepper.
½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese, if desired for added taste
One sliced lemon (optional garnish)
One tablespoon of freshly chopped parsley (optional garnish)
Directions:
Warm up the oven:
Set the oven’s temperature to 400°F, or 200°C.
Get the chicken ready:
Add salt, pepper, thyme (or Italian seasoning), garlic powder, onion powder, and olive oil to the chicken breasts. To make sure the chicken is coated evenly, you can rub the spice into it.
Get the broccoli ready:
In a bowl, toss the broccoli florets with salt, pepper, and a little olive oil.
On a baking sheet, arrange:
A baking sheet can be lightly oiled with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper.
In the middle of the baking sheet, arrange the seasoned chicken breasts.
The broccoli should be arranged around the chicken.
Bake:
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the broccoli is soft and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). In the final few minutes of baking, you can lightly cover the broccoli with foil if it begins to overcook.
Optional: Include Parmesan cheese
For added flavor and a lovely golden finish, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken (and broccoli, if desired) about five minutes before the meal is done.
Serve:
Before serving, take the chicken out of the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
For a vibrant, fresh touch, garnish with lemon slices and fresh parsley.
Advice:
Add additional vegetables:
To make this a one-pan dish, you can surround the chicken with bell peppers, carrots, or other vegetables.
Chicken thighs:
Make sure to modify the cooking time if you’re using bone-in chicken thighs, since they may take a bit longer.
Make it creamy:
In the final ten minutes of baking, serve the chicken and broccoli over a fast cream sauce made with heavy cream and Parmesan for a richer dish.
A nutritious, tasty, and simple dish, baked chicken and broccoli is ideal for hectic weeknights or meal preparation. Have fun!
