Baked Potato in an Air Fryer
Introduction
If you love baked potatoes with a crispy, salty skin and a soft, fluffy inside, the air fryer is the fastest and most reliable method.Unlike the oven, the air fryer cooks potatoes in almost half the time while giving you restaurant-quality crispness.Perfect for lunch, dinner sides, toppings, or stuffed potatoes!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 40–50 minutes
Total Time: 45–55 minutes
Components:
Russet potatoes (whatever many you require)
Olive oil
(Optional) salt
Your preferred toppings, such as cheese, chives, or sour cream
Directions:
Heat the Air Fryer:
Set your air fryer’s temperature to 400°F, or 200°C.
Get the potatoes ready:
Thoroughly wash and scrape the potatoes.
Use a paper towel to pat them dry.
The potatoes should be poked:
Make many holes in each potato with a fork. This facilitates the release of steam while cooking.
Apply a layer of olive oil:
Apply a thin layer of olive oil to every potato. This will aid in the skin’s crispiness.
Add salt for seasoning (optional):
If desired, season the potatoes with salt. Although optional, this step gives the skin taste.
Air Fry:
Make sure the potatoes in the air fryer basket are not in contact with one another.
Cook, tossing the potatoes halfway through, for approximately 35 to 45 minutes. The size of your potatoes and the type of air fryer you have may affect how long they take to cook.
Verify Doneness:
When the skin is crispy and the meat can be readily pierced with a fork, the potatoes are done.
Serve:
Before handling, let the potatoes to cool for a few minutes after cooking.
Using a fork, fluff up the insides of each potato after cutting a slit on top and adding your preferred toppings.
Have fun:
Serve the baked potatoes from the air fryer with your preferred cheese, chives, sour cream, or other toppings.
