Banana Bread Brownies (Air Fryer Recipe)
Introduction
Banana Bread Brownies are the best of both worlds—moist, sweet banana flavor meets the rich decadence of a brownie. This air fryer version gives you that perfect fudgy center with crisp edges, and it’s ready in a fraction of the time compared to traditional baking. Great for breakfast, dessert, or anytime snacks!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 18–22 minutes (air fryer)
Total Time: ~35–40 minutes
Ingredients
For an 8-inch square pan (or air fryer-safe cake pan):
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
2 ripe bananas, mashed
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/2 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips (plus more for topping)
Instructions
Prep Batter (10–12 minutes)
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
Stir in mashed bananas, egg, and vanilla extract.
In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and optional cinnamon.
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips. Do not overmix.
Prepare Pan (2 minutes)
Grease or line an air fryer-safe baking pan (7–8 inch round or square works best) with parchment paper.
Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly.
Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
Air Fry (18–22 minutes at 320°F / 160°C)
Preheat air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 3 minutes.
Place the pan in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 18–22 minutes, checking at the 15-minute mark.
The brownies are done when the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
If the top browns too quickly, lightly cover with foil halfway through.
Cool & Slice (10 minutes)
Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.
Serve warm for a gooey treat or chilled for a dense banana bread-like texture.
Serving Ideas:
Drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel
Top with a scoop of vanilla or banana ice cream
Dust with powdered sugar for an elegant finish
Tips & Variations:
Add nuts: Fold in 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
