Barbara O’Neill’s Turmeric Thyroid Support Formula
Ingredients
1 jar raw honey (Local, unfiltered honey is often recommended)3-4 inches fresh ginger root (sliced or grated)
2-3 inches fresh turmeric root (sliced or grated)
2-3 lemons (sliced or juiced)
1 tsp whole black peppercorns (Essential to activate the curcumin in turmeric)
Preparation (The Honey Soak)
Slice or Grate: Thinly slice or grate the fresh ginger and turmeric.
Combine: Layer the ginger, turmeric, lemons, and peppercorns into a clean glass jar.
Pour Honey: Cover the ingredients completely with the raw honey.
Infuse: Let the mixture sit for at least 24 hours in a cool, dark place. The juices from the ginger and lemon will thin the honey into a syrup.
How to Use (Topical Application)
Barbara O’Neill frequently teaches the use of poultices for localized inflammation:
The Wrap: Soak a piece of clean flannel or cotton cloth in the liquid portion of the turmeric/ginger honey mixture.
Apply: Place the cloth directly over the thyroid area (the base of the neck).
Secure: Cover the cloth with plastic wrap to prevent leaking and secure it with a scarf or bandage.
Duration: Leave the soak on for 2–4 hours or overnight.
Important: Turmeric stains everything it touches bright yellow. Be sure to use old towels and clothing when applying this soak. If you have a known thyroid condition like Hyperthyroidism or Hashimoto’s, please consult your healthcare provider before starting new topical treatments.
