Bombs of strawberries
Ingredients
Regarding the Filling:
- 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
- Half a cup of powdered sugar
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup optional graham cracker crumbs for texture
Regarding the Coating:
- Eight ounces of chocolate chips (white, dark, or milk chocolate)
- For a smoother chocolate coating, you can add one tablespoon of coconut oil.
As an optional garnish:
- Extra crumbs from graham crackers
- Sprinkles or chopped nuts
Directions
Get the strawberries ready:
- After washing, use a paper towel to pat the strawberries dry.
- Using a straw or a small paring knife, remove the stems from each strawberry and hollow out a small bit of the inside. Take care to avoid shattering the strawberries.
Prepare the filling.
- Using an electric mixer, whip the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl until it’s smooth.
- Mix thoroughly after adding the vanilla essence and powdered sugar. For added texture, mix in the graham cracker crumbs, if using.
Place the Strawberries inside:
- Fill each hollowed strawberry with the cream cheese mixture using a tiny spoon or a piping bag. Give them a lot of filler to produce a “bomb” effect.
Get the chocolate coating ready by:
- Put the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave.
- Microwave the chocolate in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until it is smooth and completely melted.
Wrap the Strawberries in coats:
- Make sure to completely coat each stuffed strawberry by dipping it into the melted chocolate. Let the extra chocolate fall off.
- Arrange the chocolate-covered strawberries on a baking sheet covered with paper.
Optional garnish:
- Add more graham cracker crumbs, chopped nuts, or sprinkles for decorating on top before the chocolate sets.
Calm down:
- To solidify the chocolate, put the baking sheet in the fridge for about half an hour.
Serve:
- When the strawberry bombs are set, move them to a dish and dig in!
Advice
- Storage: Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to two days in an airtight container. It’s better to eat the strawberries fresh because they may lose moisture over time.
- Variations: Feel free to try with different fillings, like flavored cream cheese spreads, whipped cream cheese, or Nutella.
- Alternatives for Dipping: For a festive look, you can alternatively dip the strawberries in colored candy melts or white chocolate.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, these strawberry bombs are a tasty and cool delicacy that will wow your loved ones! Have fun!
