Breakfast Burrito Roll-Ups
A tasty and portable way to have a filling breakfast is with breakfast burrito roll-ups! Usually made with eggs, cheese, and other breakfast staples, these little roll-ups are wrapped in a soft tortilla. This is a basic recipe for making them:
Components:
- Four little tortillas made with flour
- Four big eggs
- 1/4 cup cream or milk, if desired, to make the eggs fluffier
- Half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese, or any other type of cheese,
- 1/4 cup of cooked, breakfast sausage (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped onions or bell peppers (optional)
- To taste, add salt and pepper.
- One tablespoon of cooking oil or butter
- Hot sauce or salsa (optional) for dipping
Directions:
Get the filler ready:
- Cook the sausage first, then put them aside if using.
- Whisk the eggs, milk (if using), salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Prepare the eggs:
- Melt butter or heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- When the eggs are added to the tortilla, they will fry a little more. Pour in the egg mixture and scramble until just set but still slightly soft. Take off the heat.
Put the roll-ups together:
- On a spotless surface, place each tortilla flat.
- Place a dollop of scrambled eggs in the middle of every tortilla.
- Add any extra fillings, like as cooked sausage, chopped vegetables, and top with cheese.
Roll them up:
- After folding the tortilla’s sides in, tightly roll it up around the filling.
- For every tortilla, repeat.
Toasting the roll-ups is an optional step:
- Heat a small amount of oil or butter in the skillet over medium heat if you like a crispy exterior.
- Put the roll-ups in the skillet, seam side down, and fry until crispy and golden brown, rotating occasionally to brown all sides.
Serve:
- Halve the roll-ups and serve them with hot sauce or salsa for dipping.
Because you can prepare these Breakfast Burrito Roll-Ups in advance, store them in the refrigerator, then reheat them as needed, they’re ideal for a hectic morning. Have fun!
