Components:
Regarding the Steak Bits:
- One pound (450 grams) of ribeye or sirloin steak, sliced into small cubes
- To taste, add salt and pepper.
- One tablespoon of butter or olive oil
- One teaspoon of optional garlic powder
- One teaspoon of optional smoked paprika
Regarding the Shrimp:
- One pound (450 grams) of large, peeled and deveined shrimp
- To taste, add salt and pepper.
- One tablespoon of butter or olive oil
- Two minced garlic cloves
Regarding the Soy Butter Glaze:
- Four teaspoons of butter
- Three tablespoons of soy sauce (for a lighter version, use low-sodium)
- One tablespoon of brown sugar or honey (for sweetness)
- One tablespoon of rice vinegar (or, for a refreshing twist, lemon juice)
- One teaspoon of optional sesame oil (for added flavor)
- One teaspoon of optionally freshly grated ginger
- One teaspoon of optional cornstarch to thicken the sauce
Directions:
To make the steak bites, liberally season the steak cubes with smoky paprika (if using), salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the steak cubes in a single layer to the heated skillet. To get a beautiful crust, let them sear for two to three minutes without moving.
To achieve the required amount of doneness, grill the steak cubes for a further two to three minutes after flipping them.
After taking the steak chunks out of the skillet, place them aside and keep them warm by covering them with foil.
Cook the Shrimp: Add salt and pepper to the shrimp.
Add another tablespoon of olive oil (or butter) to the same skillet. Turn the heat up to medium.
Add the shrimp and heat until opaque and pink, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. In the final minute of simmering, add the minced garlic and heat until aromatic.
Along with the steak chunks, remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
make the butter soy glaze. Melt four tablespoons of butter in the same skillet over medium heat
Add the rice vinegar (or lemon juice), honey (or brown sugar), soy sauce, and sesame oil (if using) when the butter has melted. Mix thoroughly to incorporate.
Add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch and 2 teaspoons of water to the sauce and whisk continuously until the glaze thickens (approximately 1-2 minutes) if you want a thicker glaze.
For added taste, you can optionally add grated ginger. Stir everything together.
Mix the Shrimp, Steak Bites, and Glaze: Put the shrimp and steak bites back in the skillet with the butter-soy glaze. Coat the steak and shrimp in the sauce by gently tossing everything together. To warm everything through and let the flavors combine, cook for a further one to two minutes.
Serve: If preferred, top the flavorful steak bits and shrimp in butter soy glaze with fresh cilantro, sesame seeds, or sliced green onions.
For a full meal, serve with sautéed veggies, steamed rice, or a straightforward side salad.
Advice:
Steak options: Although you can use different steak cuts, such as flank or tenderloin, ribeye or sirloin are especially good for this recipe because of their flavor and suppleness.
For added taste: For more spiciness, add a splash of chile oil or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
Sides: This recipe goes well with a range of sides, including stir-fried vegetables, garlic butter rice, or a plain green salad.
Savor the rich, delicious flavors of your delicious Steak Bites and Shrimp in Butter Soy Glaze, which is a great dish to serve as a treat or to wow visitors.
