Tips:
1. Use high-quality buttermilk: Fresh and real buttermilk makes all the difference in this pie.
2. Don’t overmix the filling: Mix the filling just until combined to prevent a tough and dense texture.
3. Use a flaky and homemade crust: A homemade crust made with cold butter and ice-cold water will give the pie a flaky and tender crust.
4. Bake until golden brown: Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.
5. Experiment with different flavorings: Try adding different flavorings, such as vanilla or nutmeg, to the filling for a unique twist.
Health Benefits:
1. Supports Healthy Bones: The calcium in the buttermilk and eggs may help support healthy bone density.
2. May Help Lower Cholesterol: The potassium in the buttermilk may help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.
3. Supports Healthy Digestion: The probiotics in the buttermilk may help support healthy digestion and prevent constipation.
