Cabbage Fritters Recipe
Ingredients for Cabbage Fritters:
- 2 cups of shredded cabbage
- One cup of all-purpose flour
- Two huge eggs
- Half a cup of grated Parmesan cheese, or any other type of cheese,
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped chives or green onions
- One teaspoon of powdered garlic
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- Half a teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of optional red pepper flakes
- Olive or vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
Get the cabbage ready:
- Add the shredded cabbage to a big bowl and season with salt. Give it ten minutes or so to sit and wilt a little. After resting, squeeze out any extra moisture.
Combine the ingredients:
- The wilted cabbage, flour, eggs, cheese, green onions, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if used) should all be combined in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Warm up the oil:
- Heat 1/4 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook the Fritters:
- When the oil is hot, use the back of the spoon to gently flatten the spoonfuls of cabbage mixture that have been dropped into the skillet. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side.
Drain
- After taking the fritters out of the skillet, drain any leftover oil by placing them on paper towels.
Serve:
- Enjoy it warm with your preferred dipping sauce, such yogurt or sour cream!
Advice:
- For added taste, you can add additional herbs or vegetables, like as fresh parsley or grated carrots.
- For a healthier option, bake the fritters for about 20 minutes, turning halfway through, at 375°F (190°C) on a baking sheet that has been oiled.
- Savor your fritters with cabbage!
