Cake Rolls with Cookie Dough Ice Cream
Components:
- One cup of all-purpose flour
- Half a cup of cocoa powder without sugar
- One teaspoon of baking powder
- Half a cup of softened unsalted butter
- One quart of mildly softened vanilla ice cream
- Half a cup of unsalted butter (for your cookie batter)
- Half a cup of chocolate chips
Directions:
- Grease two 9-inch round cake pans and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Put aside.
- Cream sugar and 1/2 cup butter in a separate bowl until light and creamy. Add the dry ingredients gradually until smooth.
- Fill the prepared pans with the batter. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean after 25 to 30 minutes of baking. Let it cool fully.
- Cream the remaining 1/2 cup butter and sugars to make the cookie dough layer. Add chocolate chips and flour and stir. Put aside.
- Layer a layer of cookie dough, softened vanilla ice cream, and one round of chocolate cake to assemble. Top with the second layer of cake.
- Use whipped cream or a basic powdered sugar icing to cover the entire cake.
- To set, chill in the fridge for at least two hours.
