Table of Contents

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for more fat)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra richness)
  • 2 tbsp beef tallow or butter (for moisture)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional, for a cheesy flavor)
  • 1 tbsp beef gelatin (optional, for better texture)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a small loaf pan (around 9×5 inches) with beef tallow or butter, or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix the Beef Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, eggs, heavy cream (if using), and beef tallow or butter.
    • Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and any other optional seasonings or cheese, and mix until everything is well incorporated. If you want a firmer texture, add the beef gelatin to help bind the ingredients together.
  3. Form the “Bread”:
    • Transfer the beef mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down evenly to ensure the mixture is compact.
    • Smooth the top with a spatula or spoon to create a uniform surface.
  4. Bake:
    • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
    • If desired, you can broil the top for an additional 2-3 minutes to get a crispy, browned crust.
  5. Cool and Slice:
    • Allow the beef bread to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before removing it and slicing.
    • Slice into thick pieces and enjoy as a savory “bread” alternative. It pairs wonderfully with eggs, meats, or even as a sandwich substitute.
