Cheese and sausage breakfast casserole

Cheese and sausage breakfast casserole

Ingredients

  1. One pound of breakfast sausage (you can choose mild or spicy).
  2. Six big eggs
  3. Two cups of milk
  4. One teaspoon of salt
  5. Half a teaspoon of black pepper
  6. One-half teaspoon of garlic powder
  7. Eight bread slices (cubed or any other kind you like)
  8. Two cups of shredded cheese, either mozzarella, cheddar, or a combination
  9. Chopped bell peppers or green onions are optional but can enhance flavour.

Directions

  • Set the Oven’s Temperature to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the Sausage: Brown and thoroughly cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. As it cooks, break it into crumbles. Drain any extra fat.
  • To make the egg mixture, combine the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a big basin and whisk until thoroughly blended.

Put the casserole together:

  • Spread the cubed bread evenly over the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish that has been oiled.
  • Over the toast, scatter the cooked banger.
  • Evenly cover the bread and sausage with the egg mixture.
  • Add any optional toppings, such as bell peppers or green onions, and shredded cheese on top.
  • Bake: Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the top is bubbling and brown and the eggs are set.
  • Serve: Before slicing, allow it to cool for a few minutes. Warm up and dig in!

This dish can be prepared in advance for ease and is excellent for breakfast or brunch. Have fun!
