Prep Time: 10 minutes

Chill Time: 15 minutes (optional, for better slicing)

Cook Time: 18-20 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Servings: 12 pinwheels

Ingredients

Base Ingredients:

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (store-bought or homemade)

½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

½ cup cream cheese or ricotta cheese (for extra creaminess)

½ cup finely chopped vegetables (bell peppers, spinach, carrots, zucchini, or mushrooms)

1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (parsley, basil, or chives)

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika or Italian seasoning

Salt & black pepper to taste

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tbsp sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional, for topping)

Instructions

 Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cheese, cream cheese, chopped vegetables, herbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.

 Assemble the Pinwheels

Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular shape (if not already pre-rolled).

Evenly spread the cheese and vegetable mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a ½-inch border along the edges.

Carefully roll the pastry into a tight log, starting from the longer side.

Wrap the roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes (optional but helps in slicing cleanly).

Slice & Bake

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Remove the pastry roll from the fridge and slice it into ½-inch thick rounds using a sharp knife.

Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 1 inch apart.

Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish and sprinkle with sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (if using).

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and crispy.

 Serve & Enjoy

Let them cool for 5 minutes, then serve warm with your favorite dips like marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic yogurt sauce.

Tips for Perfect Pinwheels

Chill before slicing for clean and even pinwheels.

Use a variety of cheeses like feta, parmesan, or pepper jack for different flavors.

Don’t overfill the pastry—too much filling can make it harder to roll and slice.

Make-ahead friendly: Assemble and freeze the log, then slice and bake as needed.

Want a spicier version? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or finely chopped jalapeños.
