Ingredients

    • 200 ml warm water
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 300 g flour (divided into two portions of 150 g each)

  • 100 g Gouda cheese (or your choice of cheese), grated
  • 100 g butter, melted

Directions

    • In a large bowl, mix warm water and salt. Add the first 150 g of flour and mix until smooth.
    • Gradually add the remaining 150 g of flour and knead until a soft dough forms. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
    • Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each into a ball.

    • Flatten each ball into a thin round, about 1/4-inch thick.
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
    • Brush one side of the flatbread with melted butter and place it butter-side down on the skillet.

    • Sprinkle a portion of grated cheese on top and brush the top side with butter.
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is cooked through.
    • Repeat with the remaining dough portions.

  • Serve warm and enjoy!
