CHEESY CHICKEN FRITTERS

Cheesy chicken fritters are delicious, bite-sized patties made with ground chicken, cheese, and various seasonings. They make for a fantastic appetizer, snack, or even a main course when served with a side salad or vegetables. Here’s a simple recipe for cheesy chicken fritters:Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)
  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, paprika, and dried thyme (if using). Mix everything together until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small, round patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You can use your hands or a spoon to shape them.
  3. Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Dredge each chicken patty in the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are coated evenly on both sides. This helps create a crispy exterior when frying.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. You’ll need enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chicken fritters to the skillet. Fry them for about 3-4 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to work in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
  6. As you remove the fritters from the skillet, place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  7. Serve the cheesy chicken fritters hot with your favorite dipping sauce. They pair well with ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, or honey mustard.
