Cheesy Egg Rolls with Beef

Ingredients

Regarding the Filling:

  1. One pound of ground beef
  2. One cup of shredded cheddar cheese, or any other cheese of your choosing
  3. Half a cup of finely chopped green onions
  4. Two minced garlic cloves
  5. One teaspoon of soy sauce
  6. One teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  7. Half a teaspoon of black pepper, ground
  8. To taste, add salt.

In order to assemble:

  1. Ten to twelve egg roll wrappers
  2. One beaten egg (used to seal the wrappers)
  3. Canola oil, peanut oil, or vegetable oil can be used for frying.

Directions

Prepare the beef:

  • Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. If needed, drain extra fat.

Include Flavors:

  • Season the cooked beef with salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Cook for one more minute, or until the garlic is aromatic, stirring to incorporate. Take off the heat and let the mixture to cool a little.

  • Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). A tiny slice of bread should sizzle and rapidly turn golden brown when you test the oil.

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan when you add a few egg rolls to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side.
