Cheesy Ranch Beef Pasta Shells in the Air Fryer
This dish takes the irresistible flavors of creamy ranch, savory ground beef, and gooey cheese and wraps them around tender pasta shells for a family-style comfort meal. Traditionally made in a slow cooker, this air fryer version delivers the same creamy, cheesy goodness in a fraction of the time. Each bite is rich, tangy, and satisfying—perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that still tastes like it simmered all day.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 18–20 minutes (plus pre-cooking pasta)
Total Time: 28–30 minutes
Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
8 oz (225 g) medium pasta shells (uncooked)
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)
1 cup beef broth
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook pasta:
Boil pasta shells according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Cook beef:
In a skillet (or stovetop-safe air fryer accessory pan if available), heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion, cooking until beef is browned and onion is soft (about 5–6 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another 1 minute. Drain excess fat.
Mix sauce:
Stir in ranch seasoning, beef broth, and heavy cream. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combine pasta and sauce:
Add cooked pasta shells to the beef mixture. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese, reserving a small handful for topping.
Air fry:
Transfer mixture to an air fryer-safe baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Temperature: 350°F (175°C)
Time: 10–12 minutes, until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Tips for Success
Pre-cook pasta slightly under al dente since it will soften more in the air fryer.
For a spicy kick, add ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
Swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
Serving Ideas
Pair with garlic bread or a crisp green salad.
Use leftovers as a cheesy filling for stuffed bell peppers.
