Cheesy Sausage and Egg Skillet Breakfast recipe
Reminiscent of hectic mornings when I needed something hearty and quick to keep me going for the day ahead, this meal brings back memories of those circumstances.
Ingredients:
– 4 large eggs
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
– 3 sausage links, sliced
– 2 green onions, chopped
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– 1/4 tsp black pepper
– Salt to taste
Details to follow:
Get the skillet ready by:
In a skillet made of cast iron, bring the olive oil to a temperature of medium. Approximately five minutes after adding the sausage slices, they should be browned.
Then, add the cheese and tomatoes:
Put the cherry tomatoes in the pan and sauté them for a few seconds. On top of the sausage and tomatoes, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese in an even distributed manner.
Break open the eggs:
The cheese mixture should be divided into small wells, and an egg should be delicately cracked into each well. Salt and black pepper should be sprinkled on top.
Prepare with a garnish:
The egg whites should be set but the yolks should still be runny, which should take around five to seven minutes. Cover the skillet and continue cooking. Place chopped green onions on top, and serve while still hot.
