Chicken Alfredo Wraps
Easy to prepare and ideal for lunch or dinner, chicken Alfredo wraps are a tasty, creamy, and cozy dish. This is a basic recipe for these wraps:
Components:
Regarding the Alfredo chicken:
- Two skinless and boneless chicken breasts
- One tablespoon of cooking olive oil
- To taste, add salt and pepper.
- Two minced garlic cloves
- One cup of heavy cream
- One cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
- For added cheesiness, you can add 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- One tablespoon of butter
- Half a teaspoon of dried basil or Italian seasoning (optional)
To wrap things up:
- Four big flour tortillas (for variation, use spinach or sun-dried tomato tortillas)
- Optional: fresh lettuce or spinach for crunch
- Tomato slices (optional; adds freshness)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, if desired)
Directions:
1. Prepare the chicken:
- Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the chicken breasts.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- When the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C), add the chicken breasts and cook for 6–7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- After cooking, take the chicken out of the skillet, let it a few minutes to rest, and then cut it into thin slices.
2. Prepare the Alfredo dressing:
- Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium-low heat.
- Cook the minced garlic for around 30 seconds, or until it becomes aromatic.
- After adding the heavy cream, boil the mixture. Give it three to four minutes to cook so that it thickens a little.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it becomes creamy and smooth. Add shredded mozzarella cheese for added richness if desired.
- Turn down the heat to low after adding salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, if using.
3. Put the Wraps Together:
- Place your tortillas on a spotless surface, flat.
- If desired, garnish each tortilla with a few spinach or lettuce leaves for added crunch.
- Fill the center of each tortilla with a large portion of the Alfredo sauce using a spoon.
- Place the cooked chicken slices over the sauce.
- If you want more freshness, you may optionally add a few slices of fresh tomatoes or other vegetables.
- The tortilla should be carefully folded in the sides before being snugly rolled into a wrap.
4. Offer:
- To make serving easier, cut the wraps in half at an angle.
- Serve with roasted vegetables, salad, or chips on the side, and garnish with fresh parsley if you like.
Advice:
- For additional taste and texture, you can add sautéed broccoli, mushrooms, or other vegetables to the Alfredo sauce.
- Use whole wheat tortillas and substitute a milder cream or milk for the heavy cream for a lighter version.
These tasty and creamy chicken Alfredo wraps are ideal for a quick and filling supper. Have fun!
