Chinese Chicken Cabbage Stir-Fry
Quick and flavorful stir-fry featuring tender chicken, crunchy cabbage, and savory Chinese seasonings!
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 head green cabbage, shredde
- 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper, finely diced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Soy sauce (optional, for flavor)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions:
1. Start by slicing the onion and chicken breasts, mincing the garlic, shredding the cabbage, and finely dicing the jalapeño pepper.
2. In a large skillet or wok, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
3. Add the sliced onion to the pan and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until it becomes translucent.
4. Then, add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
5. Push the onion and garlic to the side of the pan and add the thinly sliced chicken breasts.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it is cooked through and no longer pink.
8. Once the chicken is cooked, add the shredded cabbage and diced jalapeño to the pan.
9. Stir everything together and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the cabbage is wilted but still slightly crunchy.
10. Taste the stir-fry and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
11. You can add a splash of soy sauce for extra flavor if desired.
12. Remove the stir-fry from heat and serve it hot over cooked rice or noodles.
