Churro Snacks
Components of the Churros:
- One cup of water
- Half a cup of unsalted butter
- One spoonful of sugar, granulated
- One-fourth teaspoon of salt
- One cup of all-purpose flour
- Two huge eggs
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Canola or vegetable oil for frying
For the sugar and cinnamon:
- Half a cup of sugar, granulated
- One teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Directions
Get the cinnamon sugar ready:
- Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Put aside.
Make the dough for the churros:
- Put the water, butter, sugar, and salt in a medium pot. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil.
- After it starts to boil, turn off the heat and mix in the flour until it’s all mixed in. A ball will develop out of the mixture.
- After a few minutes of cooling, stir in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix the dough until it’s glossy and smooth.
Warm up the oil:
- Heat about 2 inches of oil to 350°F (175°C) in a big skillet or pot.
Pipe the Churros:
- Spoon the churro dough into a piping bag that has a star tip attached.
- Pipe dough strips, about 4–6 inches long, carefully into the heated oil. Avoid packing the pan too full and fry in batches.
Cook the churros:
- The churros should be fried until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes per side.
- To drain excess oil, remove them from the oil with tongs and lay them on a plate lined with paper towels.
Apply a layer of cinnamon sugar:
- Roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until completely coated, while they are still warm.
Serve:
- Savor your homemade churros by themselves or dip them in some chocolate sauce!
- These churros are the ideal snack or dessert because they are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Have fun!
