Ingredients
Regarding the Cake:
- Two cups of all-purpose flour
- One cup of sugar granules
- One spoonful of baking powder
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- One cup of whole milk
- Half a cup of melted unsalted butter
- Two huge eggs
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
For the Swirl of Cinnamon:
- Half a cup of packed brown sugar
- Two tablespoons of cinnamon powder
- 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter
Regarding the Glaze:
- One cup of powdered sugar
- Two to three teaspoons of milk
- Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions
Warm up the oven:
- Set the oven temperature to 175°C (350°F). Line a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it.
Prepare the cake batter:
- Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar in a large mixing basin and whisk to combine.
- Mix the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla essence in a separate basin. Stir thoroughly.
- Stirring just until mixed, gradually add the wet components to the dry ingredients. Avoid overmixing.
Get the cinnamon swirl ready:
- Combine the softened butter, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar in a small bowl and stir until crumbly and well blended.
Put the Cake Together:
- Evenly distribute half of the cake batter in the baking dish that has been prepared.
- Over the batter, scatter the cinnamon swirl mixture.
- Gently smooth out the remaining cake batter after pouring it on top. To achieve a marbled look, gently swirl the batter using a knife.
Bake:
- A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean after 25 to 30 minutes of baking in a preheated oven.
Get the Glaze Ready:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vanilla essence, and powdered sugar until smooth while the cake bakes. If necessary, add more milk to change the consistency.
Glaze and cool:
- Give the cake ten minutes or so to cool in the pan. Next, cover the warm cake with the glaze.
