Cinnamon rolls I don’t recommend using cake flour for this recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp instant yeast

*I don’t recommend using cake flour for this recipe. You won’t get the same results.

For the filling

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)
  • Mix all these 3 ingredients to make a paste .
Instructions

1. In a large bowl add warm milk, sugar , melted butter, egg and yeast. Whisk well.
2. Sift in flour and salt . Mix until the wet and dry ingredients are well combined. Then knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and no longer sticky.
3. Grease the bowl with oil . Place the dough and cover with a damp cloth or cling wrap. Keep in a warm place for an hour or until the dough has doubled in size .
4. When the dough has doubled. Transfer it to a floured surface. Spread and roll it out into a rectangular shape. Use a rolling pin.
5. Spread the cinnamon sugar butter paste on the dough. Make sure the whole dough is covered with the paste .
6. Carefully roll the dough evenly. Then use a very sharp knife to cut out the dough into equal sizes .
7. Place the dough pieces into a prepared baking pan. Cover with a damp cloth or cling wrap. Let them proof again for 30 minutes in a warm place.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 Degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes.
If the top becomes brown quickly you can reduce the oven temperature.
* You can serve them with cream cheese frosting or a simple vanilla icing sugar frosting.
My frosting: 3/4 cups icing sugar + 1 & 1/2 Tbsp milk + 1 tsp vanilla essence. Mix everything together until you get a thick consistency.
