Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil , or avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup mushrooms, sautéed
- 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup bacon bits
- 2 stalks green onions, chopped (optional for garnish)
- 1/2 cup Texas Roadhouse gravy or similar, or similar
Instructions
- Start by preheating the air fryer to 375 degrees F for 3-5 minutes.
- Rub each chicken breast with oil—season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook for 10 minutes, flip the chicken, and cook for another 7-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Once the chicken is almost cooked, sprinkle each breast with sautéed mushrooms, shredded cheese, and bacon bits. Return to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Carefully remove the smothered chicken from the air fryer. Drizzle with Texas Roadhouse gravy, if desired. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
