Cream Puff Cake
Cream Puff Cake is a lovely delicacy that mixes a delectable, sweet custard filling with the light, airy structure of cream puffs. This cake is simple to prepare and makes a wonderful treat for family get-togethers or special events.
Components:
Regarding the dough:
- One cup of water
- Half a cup of unsalted butter
- One cup of all-purpose flour
- One-fourth teaspoon of salt
- Four big eggs
Regarding the filling:
- Two cups of heavy cream for whipping
- One package (3.4 oz) Quick Vanilla Pudding Mix
- A half-cup of milk
- Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
Regarding the garnish:
- 1/4 cup optional powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Prepare the dough:
- Lightly butter a 9 x 13-inch baking dish and preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat the water and butter in a medium pot until they boil, stirring regularly.
- Add the flour and salt to the pan when the water has begun to boil and the butter has completely melted. Until the mixture comes together as a ball and separates from the pan’s sides, stir it vigorously.
- After taking the saucepan off of the burner, let it cool for a few minutes.
- One by one, add the eggs, thoroughly mixing each time. The dough will get shiny and silky.
- Using a spatula, level the surface of the dough after spreading it evenly into the 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
2. Put the dough in the oven:
- Preheat the oven and bake the dough for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is puffed up and golden brown. To prevent the dough from collapsing during baking, do not open the oven door.
- When finished, take it out of the oven and let it cool fully in the pan.
3. Get the filling ready:
- Mix the milk, vanilla essence, and instant vanilla pudding mix in a big basin. Beat until somewhat thickened, about 2 minutes.
- Beat the heavy cream until firm peaks form in a separate bowl. Until the pudding mixture is smooth and well blended, gently fold in the whipped cream.
4. Put the cake together:
- After the dough has cooled, cut it into two layers horizontally with a sharp knife. A top layer and a bottom layer will be present.
- Evenly cover the bottom layer of the cake with the filling.
- Gently press down on the top layer of dough after placing it over the filling.
5. Include the garnish:
- For a nice finishing touch, you can sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the cake if you’d like.
6. Cool and serve:
- For the filling to solidify and the flavors to combine, place the cake in the refrigerator for at least two to three hours, or overnight.
- Slice and serve once chilled.
Advice:
- Prepare in advance: To give the filling time to solidify, this cake can be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated.
- Replace with other pudding: You may swap out the vanilla pudding for chocolate, butterscotch, or any other flavored pudding mix for a unique touch.
- Additional filling: For a more creamy cake, feel free to double the quantity of the pudding/whipped cream mixture if you prefer more filling.
