Creamy Slow Cooker Chicken & Pasta
This creamy slow cooker chicken and pasta is the ultimate comfort meal—rich, flavorful, and incredibly easy to prepare. With tender chicken, soft pasta, and a velvety sauce, it’s perfect for busy days when you want a hearty, home-cooked dish without much effort.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 cups uncooked pasta shells
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 cup chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream or milk
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Begin by placing the chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker. Arrange the uncooked pasta shells around and over the chicken evenly.
In a separate bowl, prepare the creamy sauce. Combine the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and heavy cream (or milk). Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together until smooth and well blended.
Pour this mixture evenly over the chicken and pasta, ensuring everything is coated in the sauce. Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set it to cook. You can cook on low for 5–6 hours for a slower, more tender result, or on high for 3–4 hours if you’re short on time.
Once the chicken is fully cooked and tender, remove it briefly and shred it using two forks, or leave it whole if you prefer larger pieces. Return the chicken to the slow cooker and stir everything together so the pasta and sauce are evenly combined.
Add the grated Parmesan cheese and mix well. Allow the dish to sit for about 5–10 minutes with the lid on. This helps the sauce thicken and become even creamier before serving.
Serve warm and enjoy a comforting, cheesy meal that’s sure to please everyone at the table.
Helpful Tips & Variations
For best texture, you can cook the pasta separately and mix it in at the end—this prevents it from becoming too soft. If cooking the pasta in the slow cooker, try stirring halfway through if possible to help it cook evenly.
To make the dish richer, add extra Parmesan cheese or stir in a little cream cheese at the end. You can also enhance the flavor by adding vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli.
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days. When reheating, add a splash of milk or broth to loosen the sauce and bring back its creamy consistency.
