Crescents with Cream Cheese and Sausage in an Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 16 ounces (2 cans) crescent rolls
- ½ pound ground breakfast sausage
- 8 ounces (1 block) cream cheese softened
- 10.5 ounce can Rotel, drained
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
Directions
- Place the uncooked ground sausage in the air fryer basket after separating it into small pieces.
- Cook at 380°F for 6 minutes; the air fryer does not need to be preheated. The size of your air fryer basket will determine how long it takes. Just make sure the inside isn’t pink anymore.
- Using a spoon or spatula, further crush the pieces after removing the basket from the air fryer.
- Drain the rotel can through a fine-mesh strainer and use a paper towel to wipe dry. (Just lightly press it on top of the Rotel that has been drained.) The cream cheese mixture shouldn’t have too much liquid added to it.
- In a medium bowl, combine the drained Rotel, sausage, melted cream cheese, garlic, and onion powder. Stir until well combined. Put this away.
- The first can of crescent rolls should be unrolled. Divide the triangles that are perforated. Keep them the same if you want larger rolls, and split them in half (like I did above) if you want smaller rolls.
- Place the sausage/cream cheese filling inside each crescent roll.
- Pinch the crescents shut after rolling them up around the filling.
- Place half of the batch in the air fryer after lightly misting the basket with cooking spray.
- Again, there’s no need to preheat the air fryer; cook at 320 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 7 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Proceed with the remaining half of the filling and the second can of crescent rolls.
Optional: Each roll can be topped with melted butter and dried parsley before being served.
Remarks
- By switching up the rotel and adding cayenne or red pepper flakes, you may make these spicier.
These rolls should not be frozen. - Make use of your preferred flavor of ground sausage.
- Be sure to thoroughly drain the Rotel. The brand name is Rotel. It consists of green chilies and diced tomatoes. It’s typically found in your grocery store among the other chopped tomatoes.
