Crispy Air Fryer Fried Chicken
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
Cooking spray
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg.
Dip the chicken pieces in the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.
Place the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray the chicken with cooking spray.
Cook at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
Tips:
For extra crispy chicken, double-coat the chicken in the flour mixture.
Be sure to not overcrowd the air fryer basket. If you have a lot of chicken, cook it in batches.
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute and prevent the chicken from drying out.
Enjoy!
