  • 1 teaspoon wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 75 grams cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Instructions:

Crispy French Fries:

Preparation:

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into sticks resembling French fries. Rinse them in cold water and pat dry thoroughly
  2. Preheat the oven to 220°C (430°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Coating and Baking:

  1. In a bowl, mix the potato sticks with salt and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the eggs.
  3. Dip each potato stick into the whisked eggs, then coat it with breadcrumbs, ensuring an even covering.
  4. Place the coated potato sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the fries are golden and crispy, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.

Cheese Sauce:

Prepare the Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  2. Add wheat flour and chili powder, stirring continuously for about a minute to create a roux.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook until the mixture thickens, stirring frequently.

Cheese Addition:

  1. Reduce the heat to low and add the cheddar cheese to the sauce. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth.
  2. Add hot sauce (if using) for an extra kick. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
