Easy and quick chocolate chips
Components:
- One cup of semisweet chocolate chips (or, if you like a sweeter taste, milk chocolate chips)
- One tablespoon of vegetable or coconut oil (to aid in melting)
- Half a teaspoon of vanilla essence (optional for flavor enhancement)
Directions:
1. Melt the chocolate.
Put the chocolate chips and coconut oil (or vegetable oil) in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave.
Stir thoroughly after each 20–30 second increment in the microwave until the chocolate chips are smooth and fully melted.
2. Adding vanilla extract is optional.
Once the chocolate has melted, mix in the vanilla extract to intensify the flavor.
3. Make Use of the Chocolate
For Dipping: For a quick treat, dip pretzels, cookies, or fruits into the melted chocolate.
For Coating: For a quick chocolate-covered snack, drizzle the melted chocolate over popcorn, pretzels, or other nibbles and allow it to cool.
For Baking: Drizzle or top your favorite cakes or cookies with the melted chocolate.
4. Allow It to Set:
Allow your chocolate-covered goodies or snacks to cool at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has solidified.
5. Shop:
Any remaining melted chocolate can be either cooled into a solid state and kept at room temperature in an airtight container, or it can be poured into molds.
Advice:
Vegetable oil or even butter will melt the chocolate if you don’t have any coconut oil, but coconut oil adds a lovely, silky finish.
By covering the melted chocolate with nuts, dried fruits, or other candies and allowing it to solidify, you may also use this as a quick method to produce chocolate bark.
