Eggless and Yeast-Free Fried Breadsticks with Chocolate Sauce

Dough Ingredients:

  • 300 grams all-purpose wheat flour
  • 8 grams baking powder
  • 3 grams baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 200 ml cold milk
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pandan paste (for color and flavor)

Chocolate Sauce:

  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 75 grams dark chocolate

Instructions:

Prepare the Dough:

  1. In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add cold milk, cooking oil, and pandan paste to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms. Knead it gently until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.

Shape the Breadsticks:

  1. After resting, divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin strip or rope shape, about 6-8 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.

Frying:

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Once the oil is hot, gently place the breadsticks in the oil and fry until they turn golden brown and puffy. Fry in batches if necessary.
  3. Remove the fried breadsticks and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
Chocolate Sauce:

Prepare the Sauce:

  • In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix sugar, cocoa powder, and cornstarch. Add this mixture to the warm milk.
  • Stir continuously until the mixture thickens.
  • Add dark chocolate to the thickened mixture. Stir until the chocolate melts completely and the sauce is smooth.
  • Serve the fried breadsticks with the warm chocolate sauce for dipping.
  • Enjoy your delightful eggless and yeast-free fried breadsticks with rich chocolate sauce!
