For the best homemade beef jerky, use an air fryer.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb thinly sliced beef steak
- ½ cup Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 cup soy sauce.
- 1 tablespoon honey.
- 1 teaspoon onion powder.
- ½ tsp chile flakes, optional; add more for spicy jerky.
Instructions
- Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
- Cut the meat pieces into strips or squares.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, making sure that the marinade covers all sides of the beef.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate overnight or for at least three hours.
- . Remove the steak from the marinade and blot it dry with paper towels.
- Place the beef strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
- Air fried the meat strips until totally desiccated. Set the air fry to 210°F (100°C) for two hours, then inspect the jerky. If it hasn’t entirely dried out, continue to air fry for 15-20 minutes until it’s done. It should achieve 160°F/71°C
- Allow the jerky to cool and then store it in an airtight container.
