Gallo Pico

Ingredients

  1. Half an onion, finely sliced (white or red), and four ripe tomatoes, diced
  2. Seed and coarsely slice one or two jalapeños (adjust for heat).
  3. 1/4 cup of freshly chopped cilantro
  4. One lime’s juice
  5. To taste, add salt.

Directions

  • Combine Ingredients: Add the chopped cilantro, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and chopped onion to a mixing bowl.
  • include Lime Juice: Gently whisk the mixture to include the squeezed lime juice.
  • Season by adding salt to taste and thoroughly mixing.
  • Chill: To let the flavors combine, let the pico de gallo sit for 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Serve: Top tacos, burritos, or grilled meats with it, or enjoy it with tortilla chips!

Advice:

  • Feel free to alter by adding extra flavor and texture with diced avocado or corn.
  • Swap out the jalapeños for bell peppers for a softer version.
