Gallo Pico
Ingredients
- Half an onion, finely sliced (white or red), and four ripe tomatoes, diced
- Seed and coarsely slice one or two jalapeños (adjust for heat).
- 1/4 cup of freshly chopped cilantro
- One lime’s juice
- To taste, add salt.
Directions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the chopped cilantro, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and chopped onion to a mixing bowl.
- include Lime Juice: Gently whisk the mixture to include the squeezed lime juice.
- Season by adding salt to taste and thoroughly mixing.
- Chill: To let the flavors combine, let the pico de gallo sit for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Serve: Top tacos, burritos, or grilled meats with it, or enjoy it with tortilla chips!
Advice:
- Feel free to alter by adding extra flavor and texture with diced avocado or corn.
- Swap out the jalapeños for bell peppers for a softer version.
