Garlic and Butter Flatbread
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for cooking)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3-4 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
1. Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
2. Prepare the Garlic Butter
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic. Set aside.
3. Roll Out the Flatbreads
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion out into a flat, round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
4. Cook the Flatbreads
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly coat with olive oil.
- Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush each flatbread with the garlic butter mixture as soon as it comes off the heat.
5. Serve
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm!
