Ingredients:
For the Base:
4 slices of artisan bread (sourdough, rye, or multigrain)
2 ripe avocados, mashed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Suggested Toppings:
Mediterranean: Feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, olive oil drizzle
Sweet: Pomegranate seeds, honey drizzle
Spicy: Sriracha, sesame seeds, lime zest
Classic: Poached egg, smoked salmon, dill
How to proceed:
Toast the slices of bread in a low-temperature oven until they are golden brown and crispy.
Place the avocados in a basin and mash them with salt and pepper until they are smooth but still leave some chunks.
Apply a sizable amount of the spread to each individual slice of toast.
Put some crumbled feta cheese, cherry tomatoes that have been cut in half, and a dab of olive oil on the toast to make the Mediterranean Toast.
To make the Sweet Toast, sprinkle chopped pomegranate seeds on top and drizzle honey over the top.
As a garnish for the Spicy Toast, sprinkle some sesame seeds on top, drizzle some sriracha over the toast, and garnish with lime zest.
Using smoked salmon as a layer, top the toast with an egg that has been poached to perfection and a sprig of dill. This is the Classic Toast.
