Grandma’s Cherry Almond Cake Recipe
Grandma’s recipe never fails to impress! Your husband’s favorite dessert, ready in no time!
Ingredients:
Shortcrust Pastry:
– 2 eggs
– 90g sugar
– 1 pack of vanilla sugar
– 90g butter
– 280g flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
Pudding:
– 600ml milk
– 1 pack vanilla-flavored custard powder
– 3 tablespoons sugar
– Boil for 1 minute
For the Pan:
– Butter
– Flour
– 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
– 500g cherries
Topping:
– 60g butter
– 50g sugar
– 5 tablespoons cream
– 150g flaked almonds
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat).
2. Grease and flour a 21×31 baking pan, sprinkle breadcrumbs on it.
3. Prepare the shortcrust pastry by mixing eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter, flour, and baking powder until dough forms.
4. Roll out the dough and line the baking pan.
5. For the pudding, boil milk with custard powder and sugar for 1 minute. Pour it over the dough.
6. Distribute the cherries evenly over the pudding.
7. Bake for about 50 minutes at 180°C.
For the Topping:
8. Mix butter, sugar, cream, and flaked almonds. Spread it over the baked cake.
9. Return to the oven for a few minutes until the topping is golden.
